It's not just Deathwhisper. I rolled on Tyranny and they are all like that here as well. It is possible that the GMs are cross server.

haha, how do you figure? Their GMs are as bad as their forums moderators. What, did Funcom hold a raffle to see what closed beta testers became GMs when the game came out?

Between the dev's CONSTANT indecision on whether they want this game to be named either the Age of Conan or Floppy Bunny's Easter Egg Hunt, and the lack of professionalism and training on their forum and GM staff will be the early death of this game. The GMs trying to needle us to stop organized killing of other players in a PvP server is ridiculous and a sad joke.

The patch fix for most issues could be done as simply as an overnight patch to increase the duration of the buff and an ability to switch instances while the buff is active (it should be anyway, I haven't needed to use it yet because I'm not a stupid player)

What I think the problem could be here, is that the line of communication between the GMs and the developers broke down and perhaps they don't realize how urgent a quick patch is needed to stop the incessant petitions about a broken system.

Either way, this stands to potentially be my first and last month in the Age of Conan depending on how this is handled. I'm sure a LOT of people feel the same way, being burnt from everything from no siege warfare, the stupid PvE city buff not working, mounts being a complete joke, the lack of really anything to do end game... the list goes on.

If I had to pass a message along to Funcom it would be that you guys can teeter and totter all you want but you had better figure your shit out quick because you aren't buying time on my subscription money.

So, there seems to be some confusion on both sides of the issue.

Let's try to clarify the situation, and then perhaps we can get somewhere.

PvP is acceptable in all shapes or forms. We have built-in mechanics that allow the player being killed to find a way out of it.. When those mechanics fail or do not function as intended we will step in. Until then we will be as hands off as possible.

Now, we have a lot of players, a lot of servers, and a lot of petitions, as you may know. We do get a lot of petitions on Deathwhisper about "griefing". When do we take action? When it crosses the line. You can camp someone until the next day if you want. More power to you.

What you cannot do is verbally threaten them or use inappropriate language. You cannot use exploits or bugs to kill other players, or for any reason, for that matter. The game is rated M, but that does not mean you can use racial slurs or issue personal attacks.

In this case, the GM was seeing a lot of reports of griefing with regards to SA's guild. He didn't say you couldn't pvp. He made the honest mistake of giving out his personal opinion that maybe keeping a lower profile might be handy in avoiding a negative reputation. Obviously, it was a mistake. If you feel like it, bring all 300 of your friends, enemies, or whatever and beat each other senseless.

It seems that our policies are not clear cut enough, and we will make every effort to clarify them so that there is absolutely no question as to what is appropriate and what is not.

They need to either ignore the crying of pubbies until said whiners grow a pair or reroll in PvE, or they should just pull the plug on their fucking servers right now. This is ridiculous.

For once, the guilds on the server might have a united cause, bigger then hating us (which makes me a little sad, I enjoy being hated!)...and that's getting this GM's to fix their shit or hit the road with it.

The game may not do so well if a bunch of Goon accounts cancel all at once, just sayin, and thats not just counting the amount of publicity our antics garner for the game. People have purchased the game JUST TO KILL GOONS.


On a seperate matter, fuck people who whine about being camped. Make some friends. Play on a PvE server. This is FREE FOR ALL PvP.
You don't HAVE to res. You can go for a break, watch some TV, get a smoke, whatever. If you come back and some jackass is still standing on your res spot, sounds like hes the one wasting his time.
Also, fuck people who cry when they get steamrolled by higher levels. There is no end game in AoC, and even if there was, it's the motivation of many to get to the maximum level so you can fuck with others...same as in any PvP game.
